Closed Captioning

Closed captioning will be available during conference sessions for people with hearing disabilities. During conference sessions, closed captions will be displayed onscreen via Zoom. Closed captioning services will be provided by AI Media.

Sign Language Interpreters

The 2023 SOAR Conference will be providing interpreters for people with hearing disabilities. During conference sessions, American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be available. Conference attendees will also be able to request an interpreter by speaking to volunteer staff members. Interpreters will be provided by Nexus Interpreting for the entirety of the conference. 

Personal Care Attendants (PCA's)

We will have PCA’s onsite to provide back-up support to attendees as needed. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own PCA’s. Attendee PCA’s do not need to pay a registration fee for the conference.

Hoyer Lift

A Hoyer lift is available for attendees if needed during the conference. You can let SOAR staff members know during check-in if you need to use the Hoyer lift, and we will connect you to the correct staff member.

Accessible Shower Room

Due to limited number of accessible rooms with a roll-in shower, we are partnering with the Marriott KC Hotel to reserve a room with a roll-in shower for those that are not able to receive one. During registration, you can indicate if you would like to reserve a time to use the roll-in shower and work with SOAR Conference staff to access the room.
